About GigSpot UK

A gig guide for live music happening across the United Kingdom.

What GigSpot is

GigSpot UK is a guide to live music gigs in every city and town in the United Kingdom. It lists what is on, where and when: the date, the act, the venue, and where we have it, a link to where the tickets are sold. There is a page for every region, every town and every venue we hold gigs for, and a page for each gig.

Alongside the gig listings there is a festivals guide, laid out month by month, and a list of record fairs. The whole site is rebuilt every day, so the listings move as the gigs do.

UK-based and independent

GigSpot is operated from Sheffield by The Stitch Factory Ltd. It is not a ticket agent, a promoter or a venue, and it takes no part in any ticket sale — every ticket button is a link out to whoever is actually selling, and you buy from them under their terms. GigSpot may earn a commission from some of those links, which is how the site pays for itself; it never changes what we list or the order we list it in.

Commission does not buy a listing or a better position. We list a gig because it is a gig, not because it pays.

Where the listings come from

Most gigs arrive automatically. Every night GigSpot imports from the ticket sellers and listings services that publish feeds or APIs — among them Skiddle, Ticketmaster, WeGotTickets, Gigantic and Ents24 — and from a small number of venue and promoter websites that publish their own schedules. Each gig is matched to its venue and town, and the same gig arriving from more than one source is merged, so one night out is not listed twice.

The rest comes from the people putting the gigs on. Anyone can submit an event, and every submission is read by a person before it appears. Nothing is invented, and no gig is listed that did not come from one of those routes.

Venues and promoters

If you put gigs on and want them listed — or listed correctly — the list your gigs form is the quickest way to reach us. For anything else, including corrections, use the contact form. If one specific gig is wrong, the “report a problem” link on that gig’s own page is fastest.
