By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the site.
What this site is
GigSpot is a guide to live music happening around the UK. We list gigs so that you can find them — the date, the act, the venue and, where we have it, a link to where tickets are sold.
We do not sell tickets. We are not a ticket agent, a promoter or a venue, and we take no part in the sale. When you follow a ticket link you leave GigSpot and buy from that ticket seller under their terms and their refund policy. Any question about an order, a booking fee, a refund or an exchange is between you and them.
How accurate the listings are
Listings come from ticket sellers, from venues and promoters, from information published about events, and from gigs people submit to us. We take reasonable care, but we do not check every listing by hand and we cannot promise that any of it is complete, current or correct.
Gigs are moved, rescheduled, sold out and cancelled all the time, often at short notice, and we are not always told. Please check with the venue or the ticket seller before you travel, especially if you are going a distance or the gig is today.
We are not liable for a gig that is cancelled, moved, rescheduled or different from its listing, nor for travel, accommodation, tickets or any other cost you incur on the strength of something you read here.
Ticket links and commission
Some of our ticket links are affiliate links: GigSpot may earn a commission from ticket links when you buy through them. That is the same disclosure you see at the foot of every page. It costs you nothing — the price you pay is the ticket seller’s own price, the same as it would be if you had gone there directly.
Commission does not buy a listing or a better position. We list a gig because it is a gig, not because it pays.
Submitting a gig
Anyone can send us a gig to list. When you submit one you confirm that the information is accurate as far as you know, and that you have the right to give it to us and to let us publish it — including any image you attach, which must be yours to share or one you have permission to use.
You keep whatever rights you already have. By submitting, you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to publish, store, copy and display what you sent on GigSpot and in anything that promotes GigSpot, for as long as the listing is useful.
We may edit a submission for length, spelling or house style, hold it while we check it, or decline to publish it — and we do not have to give a reason. We may also take a listing down, including after somebody reports a problem with it. None of that is a judgement about you or the event.
Reporting a problem
Every gig page has a “report a problem” link, and you can use the contact form for anything else. Tell us what is wrong — a wrong date, the wrong venue, a gig that is cancelled, a duplicate, an image that should not be there — and we will look at it and correct or remove the listing where we should. You do not have to give us your email address to report something, though it helps if we need to ask you a question.
Using the site fairly
You may browse the site, link to it, and share listings from it. Please do not:
- scrape, crawl, harvest or copy our listings in bulk, by any automated means, or re-publish them as your own;
- hit the site with automated or high-volume requests, or do anything that interferes with it working for everybody else;
- send us false, misleading or spam submissions, or false reports about somebody else’s listing;
- try to get at any part of the site, the database or the systems behind it that is not meant to be public.
If you would like to use our listings for something, ask us rather than taking them — use the contact form. We may block access to the site if these terms are broken.
What belongs to whom
The GigSpot name, logo, design, text and the way our listings are put together belong to The Stitch Factory Ltd. or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. Nothing on this page gives you a licence to use them.
Artist and event names, artwork and venue names belong to their own owners. We use them to describe public performances. If you own something that appears here and you want it corrected or taken down, tell us through the contact form and we will deal with it.
What we are responsible for
We provide this site free of charge and as it is. We do not promise that it will always be available, that it will be free of errors, or that any listing is correct — see “How accurate the listings are” above.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss you suffer through using the site or relying on anything in it, including wasted travel or accommodation costs, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss caused by a ticket seller, promoter or venue. We are also not responsible for websites we link to; they are not ours and we do not control them.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you use the site as a consumer, your legal rights are unaffected by anything here.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms as the site changes. If we do, we will update this page and the date at the top, and the version here is the one that applies from then on. Please look at it again from time to time.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute about them is for the courts of England and Wales to settle.
How to contact us
Use the contact form, or write to us at the address at the top of this page. How we handle your personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
